Clouds over 'The Kraai' - Sloten, The Netherlands - Bas Meelker Landscape and Wildlife Photography

I had a 'rainy' evening yesterday in Sloten, a small pittoresque city in the Netherlands. Trying to make the best of the light between the rainstorms I was soaked several times. Finally a breef moment of sunshine and my job was done. I will have to come back soon though. There are just to many great images here waiting to be exposed! Made with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L II, Lee ND9 soft grade, f11, 1/10 sec., ISO 100, Tripod and remote.

Schotse hooglanders in het Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer - Bas Meelker Natuurfotografie en LandschapsfotografieWe zijn vooral gewend om onze grijs-gradatie (ND) filters te gebruiken in situaties waarbij het verschil tussen bijvoorbeeld een lichte lucht en een donkere voorgrond 1 stop of meer bedraagt.. Vaak bij zonsopkomsten of -ondergangen of in situaties met veel schaduw op de voorgrond. In andere situaties blijven ze vaak in de tas. Jammer, want je kunt ze veel vaker gebruiken dan je misschien denkt.
